Swoony vs Character.AI

If you came to Swoony from Character.AI, here's what's different - and you can bring the character you already love with you.

Bring your character over →A few screenshots or pasted text is enough. Imported characters stay private.

Bringing your character

Swoony: Import your Character.AI character from a few screenshots or pasted text - name, personality, voice and greeting filled in, kept private, creator credited.

Character.AI: The data export is a download, not something another app can load.

Romance

Swoony: Built for romance - slow-burn progression, dark-romance tropes, real tension.

Character.AI: General character chat; romance is heavily filtered and often breaks immersion.

Content band

Swoony: Closed-door but uncensored-enough: tension and fade-to-black, not sanitized.

Character.AI: Aggressive safety filters refuse romantic tension.

Their POV

Swoony: Unlock the character's raw inner thoughts (His/Their POV).

Character.AI: No equivalent dual-POV feature.

Pricing

Swoony: Hearts: each message uses one, with a fresh batch every day. Hearts also buy the extras, and Swoony Pass is optional.

Character.AI: Subscription (c.ai+).
