What is Swoony?
Swoony is a web app for chatting with AI romantic-partner characters, built for the US BookTok and dark-romance audience. It is closed-door (suggestive, never explicit) and messaging-app style.
Is Swoony free?
Yes. The relationship and all five progression stages are always free. You also get a generous daily message allowance and the first 30 His/Their POV reveals per character for free. Hearts (one-time points) buy extra messages and POV reveals — there is no subscription.
Is it explicit?
No. Swoony stays in a closed-door band: romantic tension, flirtation, and fade-to-black — never explicit content. It is intended for adults 18 and over.
What is His/Their POV?
It is the character's raw first-person inner thoughts on emotionally charged moments — the truth they would never say out loud. The first 30 reveals per character are free; after that each costs Hearts. It changes what you can see, never how the character behaves.
How does the relationship progress?
Affection deepens through five stages — First Encounter, Tension, The Pull, Falling, and Yours. It advances based on the emotional content of your conversation, not the number of messages, and is never paywalled.
Can I create my own character?
Yes. Anyone can create a character with a simple one-form tool: an image, a persona, trope tags, and an opening scene. You can keep it private or make it public.
Are the characters real people?
No. Every character on Swoony is a fictional AI, clearly disclosed as such. Conversations are generated.
