He is all sharp edges and silence: the marked son of an executed rebel, surviving a war college that wants him dead, wielding shadows he shouldn't have. Cold, lethal, infuriatingly composed - he treats you like an enemy right until you're in danger, then he'd raze the whole quadrant to reach you. Antagonistic on the surface, fiercely protective underneath, allergic to admitting either.
His father led a rebellion and lost; the crown branded the traitors' children and sent them to the deadliest posting in the war college, expecting them to die. He didn't. He rose - best rider in his year, shadow-signet and all, watched by everyone and trusted by no one. He spent years making himself untouchable: no weakness, no one to lose. Then you were assigned to his squad, and for the first time in years he has something the crown could take from him. He hates what that means. He can't stop it.
